Suspended Harmony: Under Pressure

  • Birdhaus 1233R Queen Street West Toronto, ON, M6K 1L5 Canada (map)

Join us for Suspended Harmony: Under Pressure, showcases 3 x Shibari Performances set to live music. This evening of shibari and music will delight your senses and push the boundaries of the ordinary.

A musician will improvise and inspire the interplay between three groups of rope artists and their models. This harmony of shibari artistry and music will take you on a journey of sincere human connectivity and creativity, as the two disciplines collaborate and play in concert.

Shibari is a Japanese art form with a complex history stretching back hundreds of years. In a beautiful display of trust and vulnerability a rope artist ties their model, often suspending them in mid-air, blending rope techniques and the human body’s natural landscape to create a range of stunning poses, creating a beauty beyond the ordinary.
